Eurocafe – Possibilities for European Students

Last Thursday I had a great possibility to appear in Silesian voivodeship and run the III Eurocafe meeting. It was an awesome feeling to give a presentation in front of 60 people. What is more, the audience was from high school and it seemed quite challenging. Beside, my presentation was about “Education Possibility for European Students” – something I could discuss endlessly. I could tell them basically everything I know about student exchanges, work and travel, international internships, volunteering, online classes etc.

I felt thrilled, when some girls came after the meeting and thank me for giving them such an information. It turned out that actually young people are eager to travel, to learn abroad, to gain new knowledge, but they don’t know where to start. They’ve heard for the first time about Erasmus, da Vinci internship, Work and Travel. They are about to graduate from high school and they are not aware of wide possibilities. Many of them had doubts and openly tald me about being concerned. They didn’t believe, until after I showed all of my pictures from abroad. And of course I had to mention, that being a Polish citizenship is getting them on a higher level of grabbing those possibilities – Ukrainians don’t have such possibilities though. Citizens from many other countries don’t have it. I am wondering how to put this stimulus of “open world” to other people? Maybe by telling them and giving “myself” as an example? Well, so far that’s what I can do. Two teachers asked me to present the same topic next week at their high school. Of course I agreed. So maybe I can encourage at least ten young people. As for me, great beginning.

Forum Młodych – Youth Association of Chamber of Commerce in Katowice

At the beginning of March I had a chance to prepare and help the team leader in one of my favorite workshops “Spotkania Gospodarcze”  (Business Meeting). I used to cooperate and create such an event many times before and that’s the reason I enjoyed it a lot. Those meetings are regular, each month since four years Forum Młodych has been creating and organizing Spotkania Gospodarcze. Well, this time we have fulfilled XX Business Meeting. The topic “Efektywne zarządzanie zespołem projektowym” (Effective management of the project team). What is more, there were only two of us – the team leader and me. This workshop was extremely important to me because:
1. I am leaving Poland soon and I have to leave Forum Młodych (I joined this organization almost 5 years ago and met so many people, we had a great parties, amazing social, cultural and economic projects… Well, I’ll miss it)
2. My colleague (and actually my supervisor) was one of the experts during the Meeting
I can’t believe how many things I learned through those 5 years. And I still remember how hard it was to organize III or even IX Business Meeting. This time, as we already gained experience, we organized XX Business Meeting without any issues. For the first time I didn’t step on “a mile stone”. I am very happy that I joined my Youth Organization, cause I know how difficult might it seem to learn by practice. I didn’t realize it after one year of being a member, I was concerned about importance of such organization after my second year. Now, I see how many skills I captured and I realized that each person must reserve a lot of time to achieve what he/she wants. I reserved couple of years and it’s my great experience that nobody would take away from me.
Over 60 people participated :D

How to buy a very cheap flight ticket and keep traveling

Traveling is my passion, it's like a drug - once you try, you are willing to travel more and more, see new places. Unfortunately it's pretty expensive and you must pay more if you want to go to remote places. What I do to pay less? I keep searching for cheap flight tickets through Facebook. I "liked" several FB pages like: flipo.pl mlecznepodroze.pl jaknaletenky.cz - there are some Polish and Czech pages, where I can easily get information from. My favorite is flipo.pl - but I'm sure each country has lots of those webpages, where people just keep sending an information about discounts, coupons, system errors and so on.
And it works, I bought a flight ticket to USA and paid 156 EUR, which is less than 700 PLN. So now I'm in America, writing this blog. I'm not sure if it was a system error, but I booked a Warsaw-New York tickets (for me and my friend) and additionally got my miles in Loyalty Program. Well, traveling doesn't have to be expensive :D

Mysterious Indonesia – Bali

Indonesia is not only a Bali beach. To be honest, people don’t even know that Bali is a part of Indonesia, cause Balinese culture and language is totally different than rest of Indonesia. Today I’ll put some pictures only from Bali – the amazing place, paradise on the earth. Paradise for visitors, but still a place of hard work for locals.

Bali is famous for lots of UNESCO’s places, wood carving, silver handling and sea food. But what is more important, people are extremely nice.

Why social media matters? Help for Ukraine

Today my Italian friend wrote me a message, that Russia censored Jared Leto’s speech of Ukraine. Te reason? He mentioned that in Ukraine there are people struggling right now for their freedom. Guys, remember that we have internet and as propaganda grew up a lot, people’s awareness grew even more. We can use Facebook, we can use vk – вКонтакте, we can use YouTube to oppose those evil creatures like Putin and Yanikovych. Maybe we can’t be on Maydan or we can’t protest by being in Ukraine but can at least share the news on Facebook. I understand and respect that not everyone will read this, I know there are people who have their own problems, or are extremely busy with their life. I still believe that nobody is an ignorant and at least has some sympathy for other human who faced injustice. If you can and if you have time, at least 5 minutes, please use Social Media to help in spreading awareness. Information is the strongest tool.
